LEGO Skylines DLC and Ice Tower

Will there be DLCs? “That’s the plan,” says the official FAQ. Paradox wants to keep building LEGO Skylines with both paid and free content after launch. They will share more closer to release. That is the entire DLC slate today: a yes, two flavors, zero names.

This page exists because players search DLC the week a Paradox city-builder is announced. They remember how large the Skylines catalog got. LEGO Skylines is a different product. Do not buy a rumor pack. Do not skip the base game because a radio station pack might exist in 2029.

Ice Tower (newsletter, not DLC)

The current official carrot is the Ice Tower, promised to newsletter subscribers for a future skyline, plus news and sneak peeks. It is a marketing building, not a paid expansion. Subscribe on the official site if you want it. Skip if you do not want mail. The game is not gated behind the tower. Park a skyline plot for it if you subscribed; do not delay how to build on street one.

Paid versus free, in the abstract

Paradox city-builders historically mix free patches with paid content. That history is not a LEGO Skylines roadmap. Fair reading of the FAQ: they intend a live catalog. Unfair reading: a $200 season is confirmed. When a first content drop is named, it will land here with a date and a “free or paid” tag. Until then, the news hub is the feed.

Editions and deluxe noise

No deluxe, gold, or founder edition is for sale. Pre-orders are closed because they have not opened. If a store page appears with a cosmetic bundle, we will list what is actually in the bundle — not “and more.” Be suspicious of third-party keys labeled Ultimate.

Mods are not DLC

Workshop, BrickLink Studio import, and fan MOCs are unconfirmed. They would change the buildings ranking more than this page. Do not wait to wishlist on a mod promise. Wishlist the base game on platforms.

How to stay sane about post-launch

1. Play the loop on how to play as if the catalog will be small. If it grows, you lose nothing.
2. Treat the Ice Tower as a fun extra, not a meta building.
3. Ignore “leaked DLC calendars.”
4. When Paradox names a pack, ask whether it adds a system (new service) or a skin (new roofs). Systems change the services ranking. Skins do not.

Years of updates is a studio intention, not a contract. Iceflake still has to ship the first city. Support that first. Then argue about the second bakery pack.

A live catalog is a studio intention. It is not a promise that your first city will be incomplete. Play the loop in how to play as if the bakery pack never arrives. If it does, you will already have water. If Iceflake ships a free decoration drop, park it on a spare lot from the city planner. If they ship a paid service pack, we will re-rank it on services instead of pretending it was always S-tier.
