LEGO Skylines News

Only dated facts — announcement, store listings, and the 2027 Nintendo year — not a rumor mill.

LEGO Skylines is a newswire with one big day so far. 25 August 2026: gamescom Opening Night Live, trailer, Steam page, console wishlists. Everything else on the internet is either that day repeated or a Korean ratings leak from May 2026. This hub keeps those layers separate.

Child pages: announcement for what was shown, release date for what was not, DLC for the Ice Tower and the “paid and free later” line, IGN interview for the 29 August systems chat.

If you want to play, you still want how to play. News will not teach you the loop.

Timeline that actually happened

  • May 2026. South Korea’s GRAC listing leaked the title and tied it to Paradox. Eurogamer, IGN, Polygon, Vice ran the “is this real” pieces.
  • 25 August 2026. Official reveal at gamescom ONL with Iceflake Studios, Paradox Interactive, and the LEGO Group. Trailer, screenshots, FAQ, wishlist.
  • 29 August 2026. IGN spotlight interview with Lasse Liljedahl and Jonna Liikanen: not brick-by-brick for the whole city, XP from decorating or efficiency, police on the stack. Recap on the interview page.
  • Late August 2026. Nintendo storefronts in some regions show a 2027 year. Paradox FAQ still says no date.

That is the whole chronology. There is no beta. There is no closed test signup on the official site beyond a newsletter.

How to read future posts

Developer diaries will matter more than trailer re-uploads. The IGN stage chat is already more useful than a second trailer: one building at a time, a bigger brush late, talk to little people through endgame. Iceflake still promised more on customization in future videos. When those land, how to build and buildings get rewritten first. Date and price posts go on release date. Edition posts go on DLC.

Fan Discord and Reddit are useful and unofficial. Paradox says so in the footer of its own site. Do not treat a Discord screenshot as a patch note. The links page marks which channels are official.

What we will not recycle as news

Cities: Skylines II patch notes. Those are a different product Iceflake also works on. LEGO Skylines being a standalone game is the whole point of the FAQ. Mixing the two in a news hub is how you scare people with the wrong performance story. Hardware notes for this game live on requirements and are currently “coming soon.”

When Paradox dates the SKU, this hub’s H2 order will change. Until then, the useful news is: wishlist is live, pre-orders are not, 2027 is a Nintendo listing, Ice Tower is a newsletter carrot, and the next real article should be a diary. Refresh here, not a leak account.
