LEGO Skylines Walkthrough

There is no official campaign walkthrough because there is no published campaign. Secondary reporting has mentioned a possible story mode. Paradox’s pages have not. This walkthrough is therefore a first-session script: how to go from an empty plot to a street that looks like the trailer without painting yourself into a dead rating.

Use it beside how to play and the city planner. When a hands-on exists, we will add real menus to the middle of this page.

Session zero: wishlist and Ice Tower

Before launch, the only walkthrough step that exists is logistical. Wishlist the platform you will play — Steam, PS5, Xbox Series, or Switch 2 — on the platforms tool. Sign up for the newsletter if you want the Ice Tower for a future skyline; details sit on DLC. Do not pre-order. Pre-orders are not open.

Street one: plot, house, road, triad

1. Accept the first plot. Do not hunt a “better” seed. The pitch is that your decisions shape the city, not that the map is a min-max puzzle.
2. Build the first house like a set, not a placeholder. Mix a decoration — XP can come from dressing, not only from efficiency. One building at a time is the Iceflake method. This is how to build in miniature.
3. Put a road to the next empty plot. Leave a back corridor for utilities.
4. Place electricity, food, and water. If food wants a field, place a small one and keep it connected. See services.
5. Stop. Screenshot. If the street already looks like a grey grid, you went too fast.

Street two: jobs, park, shop

1. Add a workplace within walking-fantasy distance of the house. Jobs are in the official happiness list.
2. Add a park on the ugliest leftover corner. Happiness now, rating later — citizen happiness.
3. Add one shop you actually want. Donut bakery is the canonical joke. A museum is not street-two content.
4. Check that garbage, sewage, and police have a plan even if they have not unlocked. Leave the plots.

Street three: health and the second house

1. When hospitals unlock, place coverage for street one, not a downtown you do not own.
2. Build a second home that one-ups the first. Palette swap, extra decorations, a tree. The slogan is personal.
3. Do not start a skyline. Unlock language says new buildings arrive as the city grows. Earn them.
4. If the rating moved, spend the unlock on a service, not a statue.

Optional fork: farm town versus cultural capital

If the first hour felt good with wheat and bakeries, lean in. That is a valid city type. Keep production on the edge so later parks do not sit in a field of kilns.

If you came for museums and arenas, still finish streets one through three. Cultural buildings are the “turn your city into a capital” line, which is a later sentence in the same press release as “first house.”

What not to do in session one

• Do not wait for mods. Workshop is unconfirmed.
• Do not import a Cities: Skylines traffic template. No traffic diary has shipped.
• Do not skip water because the trailer is pretty.
• Do not treat Nintendo’s 2027 listing as a calendar invite. Paradox has not dated the game. See release date.
• Do not hunt codes or Trello boards. This is not a Roblox experience. Official channels are on links.

After the first living street

Your job becomes repeating the block without cloning it. New plots, new decorations, same service spine. When Iceflake shows disasters, budgets, or policies, they insert here. Until then, the walkthrough ends when a minifigure has a house, a job, a park, a shop, and working utilities. That is the trailer. That is enough for night one.

If you want a longer on-rails list, you do not have one yet — and that is the point of a cozy sandbox. Make it yours, then come back when the first diary drops and this script gets real button names.
