LEGO Skylines Announcement

Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group announced LEGO Skylines at gamescom Opening Night Live on 25 August 2026. The tagline is “build a city where everything just clicks.” The genre is a cozy, customizable city-builder. The platforms are Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The date is unannounced.

Who is making it

Iceflake Studios develops. Paradox Interactive publishes. The LEGO Group licenses. Iceflake is a Finnish Paradox studio (acquired 2020) known for Surviving the Aftermath and, as of late 2025, for taking over Cities: Skylines II. Game director Lasse Liljedahl framed LEGO Skylines as the team’s chance to combine lifelong LEGO fandom with management-sim craft. That quote is in the press release, not a podcast rumor.

What the leak got right

In May 2026, Korea’s GRAC listing named LEGO Skylines under Paradox. Outlets guessed a brick city-builder. They were right about publisher, genre, and the Skylines adjacency. They could not have known the standalone FAQ line, the Switch 2 SKU, or the cozy tone. Treat May pieces as archaeology; treat August pages as canon.

Four days later, on the IGN stage
